Polish, Scandinavian, Latvian roots are bubbling in my blood

I am influenced by the ancient Dogon culture in Africa and the spirit of Latvian Suiti, I am inspired by the image of a black woman in the contemporary art. I write my big world stories with lines, colors and collages from personal clothes. My own story about the little white woman the bearer of the Eastern European genetic code. She knows what the KGB interrogation was and what the diamonds are, she has no pragmatism. She can clean the potatoes and dream of love at the same time. The question is – what the world is now? Everything is changing. Traditions are collapsing and the big role of a woman – to be a mother, wife- is losing its relevance. There are already so many people on this planet. My heroines, like birds – Phoenix – shrink to ashes, unfulfilled sexuality to be reborn in a new image, in new Goddesses.

In this exhibition, my story is about woman as the bearer of Eastern European genetic code. She can peel potatoes whilst dreaming about love; she values relationships without pragmatism and prizes her independence whilst also longing for protection.

“There is a mix here, because, I think, our world is one big eclecticism right now and a lot of things are dying, a lot of things are becoming irrelevant, traditions are changing. We don’t understand what will happen yet, let’s hope for the best.”
